One of my roles at Weta Workshop involved working as an assistant in the Leather Room where I made armoured leather gloves for Hero Orcs & Waarg Riders such as the ones pictured.  I also assisted in making Orc costumes & gloves for Sam & Frodo & other hero characters.

Fun fact: Weta Workshop needed to quickly build a few prototype suits of armour for Aragorn's ceremony.  A small team was put together to do this.  We made a temporary workroom in Sir Richard Taylor's hotel room where we worked away for most of the night.  Viggo Mortensen even brought along a bottle of wine to help us out.  It was a pretty epic night!
